Future Stars Program - NEW!!!


The Future Stars program replaces the Pre-Star and the Star Group programs.

 

Who can join Future Stars?

The Future Stars program is open to all skaters that have achieved CanSkate Stage 3 level and who are interested in figure skating.

The Future Stars Program is available to those who have a desire to further their Figure Skating skills, and is intended to provide both the skater and the parent with an “Introduction to Figure Skating”.

 

What is the program structure?

There are two options for the program -

Option 1) 

A 50 minute session offered on Wednesday at the Mike O'Neil arena in Manotick and on Thursday at the Fred Barrett arena. The program consists of a 30‐minute group lesson followed by a 20‐minute practice/private lesson time.

         >> The 30 minute group lesson focuses on continuing CanSkate skill development and introducing figure skating skills and                    elements.

         >> The 20 minute practice/private lesson time allows the skaters to practice their skills on their own and/or to to take private                lessons with a coach.

Option 2)

 A 60 minute session offered on Saturday at the Mike O'Neil arena in Manotick and on Tuesday at the Fred Barrett arena. The program consists of a 20‐minute group lesson, a 20‐minute practice/private lesson time and a 20 minute group synchronized skating skill development lesson.

        >> The 20 minute group lesson focuses on continuing CanSkate skill development and introducing figure skating skills and                   elements.

        >> The 20 minute synchronized skating skill development lesson focuses on introducing skaters to the discipline of                                 synchronized skating.

        >> The 20 minute practice/private lesson time allows the skaters to practice their skills on their own and/or to take private                   lessons with a coach.

 

What do the registration fees include?

Coaching fees for the Future Stars program are included in the registration fees.

Coaching fees for any additional private lessons are invoiced directly to the parent by their coach. A list of coaches is available on the the Club website.

 

How long is the Future Stars season?

The winter session of the Future Stars program runs from Sept 2019 to April 2020.
