CanSkate - Planned start date: January 2021. Stay tuned!

posted Oct 26, 2020, 3:19 PM

Rideau Skating Club is under modified stage 2 conditions starting Thursday, October 15, 2020. We are hoping that this lasts only the 28 days as mentioned in the last provincial announcement (Friday, October 9, 2020).

This means, however, that there are some changes to our programs and operation:

     1) A maximum of 10 people are permitted on the ice at the same time for team practices or skating lessons. (Normally two (2) coaches and eight (8) skaters)

     2) Spectators are not permitted in the facility.

     3) Dressing rooms are closed to storage and first aid use only.

     4) Participants must arrive dressed to skate.

     5) Fifteen minutes before the start time, groups will be admitted to the skate tying area for those who can tie their own skates. We highly recommend                                 everyone put their skates on outdoors with hard skating guards on.

     6) Masks must be worn at all times when not on the ice participating in physical activity.

We ask you for your understanding and thank you for your patience as we make adjustments to skater schedules. We are working hard to ensure that all skaters get at least one session per week and that no skater loses out on their skating time.
