Notice of Meeting

Notice is hereby given to all members of Rideau Skating Club that the 2026 Rideau Skating Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 1:30 pm EST.
The 2026 Annual General Meeting of Rideau Skating Club will be held in-person on Sunday, June 7, 2026 beginning at 1:30 pm (EST) at the Greely Community Centre Hall B (1448 Meadow Drive, Greely, Ontario, K4P 1B1).
This meeting will provide Members and Observers with an opportunity to learn about Rideau Skating Club's past year as well as share in the decision making for the future of our organization.
The meeting agenda and other relevant documents will be made available shortly. Elections and amendment voting will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2026 AGM.

Call for Nominations for 2026-2027 Board of Directors
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, Rideau Skating Club will be holding, in person, its Annual General Meeting, during which there will be an election of members to the Board of Directors (the Board).
In accordance with Section 4.1 of Rideau Skating Club By-Laws, the Board shall consist of a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of ten (10) elected members. At least one member of the Board shall be a certified professional coach or registered skating coach.
The RSC strongly depends on the contribution of its volunteers and there are many ways you can contribute with varying time commitments.
Do you have any special skills or areas of interest that you would like to use to strengthen our skating club?
· Are you a bookkeeper or accountant or other financially inclined person?
· Are you interested in taking part in planning for the future of Rideau SC?
· Do you love planning or helping at events?
· Are you a person who loves to work with others to support their personal development?
· Do you love governance and the associated structure and policies?
· Are you a legal expert (contracts)?
· Do you love figure skating and want to help Rideau Skating Club flourish?
Eligible individuals are invited to submit applications for consideration.
Note: your application is to be considered as a member of the Board and not for a specific role or position. All terms are one (1) year.
The applications of all eligible nominees for election to the Board will be included in a report by the Nominations Committee to the members prior to the elections. In accordance with Rideau Skating Club By-Laws, any person meeting the following criteria is eligible to apply:
a) Be eighteen (18) years of age or older;
b) Not have been found under the Substitute Decisions Act, 1992 or under the Mental Health Act, 1990 to be incapable of managing property;
c) Not have the status of bankrupt;
d) Not be a paid employee of the Club,
e) Be a Member of the Club, or become a member within 10 days of being elected; and
f) Shall be willing to abide by the policies and By-Laws governing the Club, Skate Canada, and Skate Ontario.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Each person interested in standing for election to the Board is required to submit their intention via email to secretary@rideauskating.ca by 6:00 pm, May 30, 2026.
